Marbled Black Sesame Chocolate Bundt Cake

This cake is a combination of two batters— vanilla banana cake and a black sesame chocolate cake— swirled in a beautiful marble pattern. It’s delicious on its own but frosted with a dark chocolate glaze and topped with nuts = heavenly.

    Banana Cake Layer
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
     1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
     ½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon each nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt
     3 very ripe bananas, mashed
     ¼ cup sugar
     ¼ cup coconut oil
     1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    Black Tahini and Chocolate Layer
     2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
     1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon baking powder
     ½ cup cocoa powder
     ½ teaspoon baking soda
     ½ teaspoon salt
     ¾ cup sugar
     1 very ripe banana, mashed
     1 cup almond milk
     ½ cup coconut oil
     3 tablespoon black sesame tahini*
     1 teaspoon vanilla

    1

Preheat oven to 350F and grease bundt tin(s). Mix two batters separately: for each recipe, combine dry ingredients in a large bowl and wet ingredients in a separate bowl, then pour wet into dry and fold until incorporated (don’t over-mix).

    2

Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of each batter into the cake tin, alternating colors each time, and then swirl with a toothpick to achieve the marbled effect.

    3

Bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

    Notes

    • *You can substitute regular tahini (black sesame tahini has an amazing flavor but it's a little harder to find).

Hello! I love making your recipes, they turn out perfectly each time!

Could you give the recipe for the dark chocolate glaze you mention here?

      Thank you!
